Custom bespoke fire helmet shields. The shields are made from 2 pieces of 8-9oz leather which is cut, tooled and stamped by hand. Each design is unique, and every letter is hand-set, for a vintage look. After being tooled and stamped each shield is hand painted in traditional fire service colors. Every shield is then bonded together before being sewn with a saddle stitcher using number 138 poly thread. Each shield receives an aluminum backing strip, held on with 2 stainless steel rivets. This backing plate is necessary to bend the shield into the desired shape by the end firefighter. These are tough, heavy-duty shields, however like any natural product they can deform under extreme conditions.
